Penn State Schuylkill Drops Doubleheader to Albright; Prepares for Cairn Matchup

The Nittany Lions fought hard but were unable to overcome Albright College's offensive surge in both games of the doubleheader.

Game 1 Recap:

Penn State Schuylkill started strong at the plate but ultimately fell 8-5 in the opener. Albright struck first with three runs in the opening frame, capitalizing on a passed ball and a two-run single from D. Marks. The Nittany Lions responded with a three-run second inning, highlighted by RBI contributions from Dan Zimmerman and RayJay Marmolejos. Schuylkill briefly took a 5-4 lead in the fifth before Albright delivered the decisive blow in the sixth, plating four runs on a bases-clearing double from R. Berretta. Despite an 11-hit performance, Schuylkill was unable to rally in the final inning.

In the second game, Albright's bats came alive early, tallying 15 hits en route to an 8-2 victory. The Lions kept pace in the first inning with back-to-back RBI hits from Conner Licklider and Brandon Pupek to tie the game at 2-2. However, Albright quickly regained control with two runs in the second and third innings, capitalizing on aggressive baserunning and timely hitting. Penn State Schuylkill struggled to generate offense after the first frame, managing just six hits for the game. Albright sealed the win with two more insurance runs in the seventh.
