Penn State Schuylkill continued its strong stretch on Tuesday, sweeping a doubleheader against Manor College with a 10-0 run-rule victory in Game 1 followed by a 9-2 win in Game 2. The Lions combined for 19 runs, 14 hits, and 18 stolen bases on the day while controlling both games from the mound.
With the sweep, Schuylkill extends its winning streak to nine games heading into the start of PSUAC conference play Friday at Penn State York.
Game 1 – Penn State Schuylkill 10, Manor 0 (5 innings)
Schuylkill wasted little time setting the tone, scoring in the first inning before breaking the game open with a multi-run second and fourth inning. The Lions' aggressive base running and timely situational hitting helped generate 10 runs on eight hits.
On the mound, Joey Ruggiero delivered a dominant outing, tossing a complete-game five-inning shutout while striking out six and allowing just four hits.
