In game one, Schuylkill battled back from an early deficit and briefly took the lead, but a late rally by Hazleton proved to be the difference in a 4-3 loss. After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning, the Nittany Lions chipped away, getting on the board in the second when Tyler Shuey delivered an RBI single to score Shawn Pallay.
Schuylkill took the lead in the fifth inning as Joey Ruggiero came through with a clutch two-RBI single, bringing home Conner Licklider and Shuey to make it 3-2. However, Hazleton answered in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run single to walk it off.

The offense added two more in the third inning as Ruggiero continued his strong day with a two-RBI double. Additional runs in the fifth and sixth innings helped create separation and put the game out of reach.
