Men's Basketball Splits Season Series with Penn State Lehigh Valley

ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Men's Basketball fell to PSUAC opponent Penn State Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
With Lehigh Valley leading early in the contest, Makhi Jones' (Harrisburg, PA / Susquehanna Township High School) jump shot tied the game at 8-8 with 15:26 left in the first half. A 6-0 run by Lehigh Valley increased their lead, prompting a timeout from Schuylkill.
Amir Gray's (Washington, DC / Quince Orchard High School) basket brought Schuylkill within three points with 10:49 remaining in the first half. A late surge by Lehigh Valley widened the gap to double digits by halftime.
Antwuan Byrd's (Harrisburg, PA / Bishop McDevitt High School) shot at 13:56 marked a 15-7 run by Schuylkill at the start of the second half, reducing their deficit to 56-47. Throughout the remainder of the game, Lehigh Valley consistently responded to Schuylkill's comeback attempts, maintaining a double-digit lead for the remainder of the contest.
Byrd scored 16 points for Schuylkill. Jones finished with 14 points. Gray and Jamel Anderson (Brooklyn, NY / Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School) scored 10 points each while Anderson collected 5 rebounds for Schuylkill.
Schuylkill (12-15 overall, 9-8 PSUAC) will travel to Penn State Mont Alto on Tuesday, February 19th. Tip-off is set for 8:00 p.m.
