Men's Basketball Falls on Road at Division II Kutztown
Lions drop road test at Division II Kutztown despite balanced scoring.
Penn State Schuylkill men's basketball ran into a hot-shooting Kutztown squad on Wednesday night, falling 117–68 in a nonconference road matchup against the Division II Golden Bears. Kutztown shot 63.2 percent from the field and 50 percent from three while building a 63–25 lead at the half, forcing the Lions to play from behind all evening.
Despite the deficit, Schuylkill continued to battle and put up 43 second-half points, getting contributions from across the roster. Amir Gray led the Lions with 13 points, four rebounds, a block and a steal, while Devin Adams Jr. added 12 points, knocking down 3-of-4 from beyond the arc. Tre Worsley stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, three rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals, and freshman big Bryce Hensley chipped in five points, three rebounds and a block off the bench. Late in the game, Jalen Clarke provided a spark with six points on 2-of-2 shooting from three.
Schuylkill finished 9-of-20 (45.0%) from three-point range and held its own on the glass with 35 rebounds, including 17 offensive boards, but 23 turnovers proved costly against Kutztown's pressure and transition attack. The Lions move to 2–2 on the season after the challenging road test and will look to build on the experience as they head back into their upcoming slate of contests.
