Gray Scores 22, Lions Force 23 Turnovers in 81-64 Victory
Balanced scoring and relentless defense helped Penn State Schuylkill pull away late for an 81-64 road win at Penn State Lehigh Valley.
Penn State Schuylkill earned a strong road victory on Friday night, defeating Penn State Lehigh Valley 81-64 after using a big second half to separate from a tight first-half battle.
The Lions and Lehigh Valley were deadlocked at halftime, 36-36, but Schuylkill came out with energy after the break—outscoring the Panthers 45-28 in the second half. Defensively, the Lions forced 23 Lehigh Valley turnovers and came away with 14 steals, helping create extra possessions and momentum-changing sequences throughout the night.
Offensively, Schuylkill was led by Amir Gray, who delivered an outstanding performance with 22 points on an efficient 11-for-18 shooting, along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Bryce Hensley added 15 points in just 22 minutes, while Issac Lane contributed a strong all-around line of 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists, along with 3 steals.
The Lions also got a major spark off the bench from Hadir Boswell, who was perfect from the floor (5-for-5) and finished with 11 points in 14 minutes to help maintain the pace and intensity when the reserves were called on.
Penn State Schuylkill finished the game shooting 52.3% from the field and controlled the flow down the stretch by turning defense into offense and consistently getting quality looks.
