Golf Opens Season at PSU White Course
Cole Yelinek Shines in Debut, Cards 79 in Season Opener
Penn State Schuylkill golf opened its 2025 campaign with a strong showing at the PSU White Course in State College, a par-72 layout that tested both returning and new players alike. With a mix of veteran leadership and fresh talent, the Lions showed plenty of promise for the upcoming PSUAC season.
Leading the way was newcomer Cole Yelinek, who carded a team-low round of 79. Returner Rylen Matlock followed closely with an 82, while fellow veterans Branson Devitt (86) and Bryce Peiffer Lesher (88) provided steady scores. First-year golfer Hayden Lee impressed with an 87 in his debut, and Conner Licklider rounded out the lineup with a 90.
The team's top four scores combined for a 334 total, giving the Lions a solid foundation to build on as the season progresses.
Penn State Schuylkill will return to action on Monday, September 9, when they travel to compete at Elizabethtown.
