Lions Sweep Penn State Scranton in Road Doubleheader

In game one, the Lions wasted little time taking control. After the game was tied 1-1 in the first inning, Schuylkill erupted for seven runs in the second to break things open. Jade Weiss, Emily Brent, Aryanna Bodge, Mackenzie Carl, and Keira Devor all drove in runs during the big frame as the Lions built an 8-1 advantage.
Schuylkill added to the lead in the fourth when Lillian Deibler delivered an RBI single, then tacked on two more in the fifth. Jade Weiss swiped home as part of an aggressive baserunning effort, and Devor added another RBI single to cap the scoring.
The Lions finished with 14 hits in the opener. Brent led the way by going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI, while Weiss was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, an RBI, and two stolen bases. Devor drove in three runs, Bodge added a two-run double, and Deibler collected two hits and an RBI.
Chloe Heckman earned the win in the circle, tossing all five innings while allowing just three hits and two runs, only one earned, with four strikeouts.
In game two, Schuylkill stayed hot, collecting 13 more hits in a 6-0 shutout victory. The Lions broke through with a three-run third inning as Bodge, Devor, and Nina Wilk each delivered RBI singles. They added one run in each of the next three innings to steadily pull away.
Weiss again set the tone at the top of the lineup, going 2-for-4 with three runs scored and a stolen base. Carl added three hits, while Bodge went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Brent and Wilk each had two-hit games, and Heckman chipped in an RBI single.
Bodge was dominant in the circle, throwing a complete-game shutout. She allowed just three hits, walked none, and struck out eight over seven innings on 85 pitches.
