Softball Celebrates Senior Day and Darle Day in Home Finale Sweep
Carl and Hess honored as Schuylkill caps season with dominant wins.
Penn State Schuylkill Softball closed out its home schedule in style, sweeping Penn State DuBois while celebrating Senior Day and Darle Day in a memorable afternoon at the field.
Prior to the games, the program honored seniors Mackenzie Carl and Miranda Hess for their dedication, leadership, and impact on the program. Both have been instrumental in building the culture and competitiveness of Schuylkill Softball and leave a lasting mark on the program.
The day also served as a celebration of Coach Darle Cresswell's 23rd and final season, recognizing his incredible legacy and the countless student-athletes he has impacted throughout his career. His contributions to Penn State Schuylkill Softball have helped shape the program into what it is today, and the appreciation from players, alumni, and supporters was evident throughout the day.
Game 1
Schuylkill's offense erupted early and often, highlighted by a Keira Devor grand slam in the first inning to set the tone. The Lions continued to pile on runs behind a balanced attack, with contributions throughout the lineup including RBI hits from Aryanna Bodge, Emily Brent, and Nicole Domermuth.
Devor added another home run later in the game, while Mackenzie Carl contributed multiple hits and run production as Schuylkill cruised to a dominant victory.
Game 2
The Lions followed with another commanding performance, once again showcasing their depth offensively. Devor continued her big day at the plate with another home run, while Chloe Heckman added a triple and Miranda Hess contributed with a key RBI bunt single.
Strong pitching and defense backed the offense, securing the sweep and giving Schuylkill a fitting finish on a day centered around celebration and appreciation.
