Lady Lions Wrap Up Fall Semester Against Shenango
Schuylkill shot a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line in the conference matchup.
Penn State Schuylkill closed out the fall semester Friday night at home, falling 55–48 to Penn State Shenango in a tightly contested PSUAC matchup before the holiday break.
The Lions held a narrow lead after the first quarter and surged again in the third, outscoring Shenango 15–5 to stay firmly in control heading into the final period. Alli Crockett led all scorers for Schuylkill with 18 points, knocking down four three-pointers and adding six rebounds and four assists. Serena Jones posted a strong all-around performance with 10 points and a team-high nine rebounds, while Ava Novak contributed 10 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Katelyn Otto added eight points, seven rebounds, two steals, and a block to anchor the interior.
Shenango was paced by Samair Colon's 21 points, including four three-pointers, as the visitors pulled ahead late in the fourth quarter. Despite the final margin, Schuylkill matched Shenango on the glass and committed just 13 fouls, staying disciplined defensively throughout the contest.
The Lions now head into Christmas break with time to regroup and refocus, looking to bounce back and build momentum for the heart of PSUAC play in January when competition resumes in the second week of the new year.
