UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Schuylkill Women's Soccer triumphed over defending champions Penn State Mont Alto to claim their first PSUAC Championship in program history.
After a scoreless first half, an own goal at the 63:48 mark put Mont Alto in the driver's seat. As the clock wound down in the second half, Gaby Navarro (Tampa, FL / Earl J. Lennard) scored Schuylkill's first goal of the match, leveling the game at 1-1 with less than 15 minutes remaining. Regulation ended with the teams tied, setting up an exciting finish to the championship match.
Just 4:29 into overtime, Brittney Holland (Andreas, PA / Lehighton Area) delivered the game-winning goal, breaking free from her defender down the middle and finding the back of the net. Schuylkill led the match in shots, outshooting Mont Alto 15-10, and both teams had two corner kicks each.
