Lions Sweep Lehigh Valley with Balanced Attack
Penn State Schuylkill hit an impressive .397 as a team to sweep Penn State Lehigh Valley 3–0 in a dominant home conference win.
Penn State Schuylkill volleyball rolled to a straight-sets PSUAC victory over Penn State Lehigh Valley on September 20, winning 25–7, 25–13, 25–10 behind one of their most efficient offensive outings of the season.
The Lions opened the match on fire, posting a blistering .636 hitting percentage in the first set while holding Lehigh Valley to just seven points. After a tighter second set, Schuylkill regained control and closed out the match with a .417 clip in the third.
Lainey Dusel led the way with 12 kills on a .571 hitting percentage and added two service aces. Amanda Burns followed with 10 kills and a pair of aces, while setter Ryliegh Sinko orchestrated the attack with 23 assists and six aces of her own. Olivia Veloz contributed six kills and teamed with the front line for four total team blocks.
Defensively, the Lions were equally strong, limiting Lehigh Valley to a .027 team hitting percentage and collecting 37 digs, with Sierra Wishnefsky and Sinko each reaching double figures.
With the win, Penn State Schuylkill improves to 6–6 overall and 2–3 in PSUAC play, gaining momentum as they continue their conference schedule.
