In a thriller that saw momentum swing set by set, Penn State Schuylkill (3–4) dropped a hard-fought five-set match to Penn College (3–12) on Monday evening, 16–25, 25–13, 23–25, 28–26, 14–16.
The Lions found their rhythm in the second set, dominating 25–13 behind a balanced attack, and later forced a deciding fifth with a gritty 28–26 win in set four. Amanda Burns led the offense with 17 kills, while Lainey Dusel added 15 kills and 18 digs. Setter Ryliegh Sinko dished out 32 assists, and libero Lyla Kershner anchored the defense with an impressive 32 digs.
Despite out-digging the Wildcats 96–94 and matching them with 14 service aces, Schuylkill couldn't quite close out the decisive set, as Penn College rallied late to claim the 16–14 victory. The Lions return to action looking to build on the competitive performance in their next PSUAC matchup.
