Schuylkill Battles Penn State York in Three Sets

Penn State Schuylkill volleyball dropped a hard-fought home match to Penn State York on Wednesday evening, falling 3–0 (14–25, 22–25, 20–25) in a PSUAC matchup.

Match Summary:
The Lions struggled to find rhythm early in the first set, hitting just .053 as York pulled away 25–14. Schuylkill responded in set two, improving their efficiency to .333 behind steady setting from Ryliegh Sinko and strong swings from Amanda Burns, but York closed on a late run to take it 25–22. In the third, Schuylkill again hung tough, trading points before York secured the set 25–20.

Individual Highlights:

• Amanda Burns paced the offense with 7 kills on 24 attempts.

• Lainey Dusel provided a spark, hitting .333 with 3 kills and adding 6 digs.

• Sierra Wishnefsky made an impact from the service line with 4 aces and 5 digs.

• Lyla Kershner anchored the back row with 15 digs.

• Kenzie Staller chipped in 3 kills, a block, and an ace for a well-rounded effort.

As a team, Schuylkill recorded 17 kills, 21 assists, and 49 digs, showing resilience and stretches of quality play against a strong York squad that hit .225 overall with 46 total kills.
