Penn State Schuylkill volleyball opened postseason play in dominant fashion, sweeping Penn State Lehigh Valley (25–6, 25–10, 25–8) in the first round of the PSUAC Playoffs on their home court Monday night. The Lions controlled every aspect of the match from start to finish, advancing to the semifinal round where they'll travel to Penn State York on Thursday.
First Set – Making a Statement Early
The Lions came out firing, hitting .278 in the opening frame and holding Lehigh Valley to a -.136 hitting percentage. Behind crisp passing and consistent serving, Schuylkill raced out to a commanding lead, never allowing the visitors to find rhythm in a decisive 25–6 win.
Second Set – Relentless Pressure
Schuylkill continued to dominate in the second set, forcing 12 attack errors while capitalizing on Lehigh Valley's miscues. The Lions' balanced offensive attack, led by setter Ryliegh Sinko's steady distribution, powered them to a 25–10 victory.
Third Set – Closing Strong
Schuylkill sealed the sweep in style, hitting a match-best .385 in the third set with 12 kills to just two errors. The offense was clicking from all positions, while strong defense and serve receive kept the Lions in control until match point, finishing 25–8 to advance.

Amanda Burns led the charge with 10 kills, hitting an impressive .500 on the night, while Lainey Dusel added six kills and Addie Stagon contributed five. Sinko directed the offense with 19 assists and added two aces, and Kenzie Staller had a strong all-around performance with three kills, three aces, and three blocks.

Head Coach Maddy Felty praised the team's composure and execution under postseason pressure. "We've talked all season about peaking at the right time," the coach said. "Tonight, we played clean, confident volleyball. It was a great team win to start our playoff run."
With the sweep, Schuylkill improves to 1–0 in postseason play and will look to keep the momentum rolling as they head to Penn State York for Thursday's semifinal matchup.
