Mens Volleyball Battles Nonconference Opponent King’s (PA)
Reno Plesnarski led the Lions with five kills as Penn State Schuylkill battled King’s College.
The Penn State Schuylkill men's volleyball team dropped a nonconference match to King's College in straight sets Wednesday night, falling 25–5, 25–10, and 25–12 at Scandlon Gym.
The Lions improved as the match progressed, showing more offensive rhythm in the second and third sets after a difficult opening frame against a King's team that hit an impressive .643 for the match.
Schuylkill found its offensive stride midway through the match with several rallies sparked by strong passing and setting from Kadre Williams. The Lions recorded 11 kills on the night, with Reno Plesnarski leading the way with five kills. Austin Fries added three kills while Jeremiah Miller chipped in two kills and a service ace.
Williams paced the offense with 10 assists while also contributing defensively with two digs. David Imeogu and Plesnarski each added a dig as the Lions worked to slow the Monarch attack.
King's was led by Nathan Yelinko with seven kills and Greg Bousquet and Brian Weaver with four each, while Ben Maskiell directed the offense with 20 assists.
Despite the result, Schuylkill continued to show growth through the match, competing more effectively in the final two sets as the Lions look to build momentum heading into the heart of their spring schedule.
Penn State Schuylkill will look to regroup as the Lions continue their nonconference slate in the coming days at the trimatch on Saturday at Stevenson.
