Penn State Schuylkill women's volleyball opened PSUAC play on the road Wednesday night, falling in straight sets to Penn State York (25–20, 25–16, 25–9). While the Lions couldn't find their rhythm offensively, their back row stood tall with 64 total digs led by Lyla Kershner (20) and Lainey Dusel (16).
Amanda Burns and Amira Douglas provided sparks at the net with five and eight points respectively, while Dusel and Sierra Wishnefsky added steady play on both sides of the ball. Despite the tough result, the match gave valuable experience against a strong York squad and showed Schuylkill's continued grit in extended rallies.
The Lions (3–4, 0–1 PSUAC) will look to bounce back quickly as they travel to NCAA Division III Rosemont tonight for a non-conference matchup at 7 p.m. before returning to campus Saturday for a PSUAC tripleheader featuring volleyball, men's soccer, and women's soccer.
